Is Timothy under-weight?!

Hi everyone!
I just had a quick question in regards to my adult male Guinea Pig Timothy and his weight.
I adopted Timothy from a local rescue and his age is unknown, he has always looked on the bigger size in my opinion but today I looked at him laid down and he looked really fat!
I decided to weigh him and compare his weight to the average weight of a Guinea Pig and it turns out from the research I've done he is under-weight which I find very hard to believe!
The scales I used aren't the best they are just normal kitchen scales, anyway he weighed 450grams.
So my question is, is he under-weight?

That does sound quite strange, however if he acts like a normal Guinea pig and is eating and playing as much as his cage mate(s) then it sounds fine. However if he is consistently losing weight then I'd see a vet as weight loss is one of the earliest signs of illness

I couldn't comment on the suitability of his weight, as I'm not an expert on that, but I'd take him to the vet to put your mind at ease. Even if he is acting like normal, there could still be something up. A lot of the time piggies will act completely fine when they're ill, so by the time they actually start showing other symptoms it could be serious.
