My New Foster Mouse!
As you may know, my beloved Roborovski, Lightning, passed away a few weeks ago. I am now ready to welcome a new furry family member home.
We decided to get two mice, not to keep, but to foster. One had a broken leg, and the other one passed away this morning.
The remaining mouse is a male, and he's either a Chocolate or Agouti. He is so sweet, he'll let me pet him but not pick him up. He reminds me of Lighting with his shy and sweet personality. He is adorable, and got stuck ion his tube this morning. He's never had tubes before, and probably doesn't know how to use them.
He doesn't have a name yet, but we are thinking of Charlie, since our past female mouse was named Chocolate. I am so happy to be able to foster this animal and give him a nice home to recover in.
Pics coming soon!

Re: My New Foster Mouse!
Hi Kazzy. Sorry to hear the other mouse passed away, was he ill? You say one `had` a broken leg, is this the mouse who survived or the one that passed away?
Any chance you could keep this little guy as a pet? Male mice can`t be introduced to other males once they are single as they fight badly, so your little male will be happy on his own in a secure cage (narrow bars) or a tank-style cage with good ventilation and lost to keep him busy like a good wheel (solid wheel not spoked), cardboard egg box, tubes, etc...
What is he fed on? Rat food mix is also good for mice, so if you are looking for something that will suit him, a good commercial rat food and add canary or budgie millet seed and spray as mice love millets. Keep the protein level lower though as thy don`t require high protein levels above something like 15/16% as only baby or growing mice need high protein in the diet.
How is he getting on?

Unfortunately, the mouse passed away this afternoon. I don't know why they did... The mouse was so sweet... But yes, he seemed very ill...He barely moved, and refused to eat. :'(

Re: My New Foster Mouse!
That`s a shame. Where did they come from originally? Did you just take them in from someone who didn`t want them or?
