I chose one of my girls partly due to her white blaze... little did I know back then that her colouring would fade overtime! She has no blaze now >.< haha

Thank you! I've heard somewhere that blazed (is that even a word?) rats carry some gene that can make their offspring be more prone to certain diseases. Do you know anything about this? I don't ever plan on breeding, but I'm interested.

I don't know all that much about it, but I have heard about something called the high white gene.
We don't have this really in the UK, but I know they have it in the US.

It occurs during breeding, if two rats with the high white gene breed, then there is a risk of the offspring having something known as megacolon. Its where the colon (intestine) gets blocked or something? The animals become severely constipated and as a result struggle to go to the toilet. Depending on the severity of it, some affected rats can become incredibly bloated. (I would post a photo but I don't really want to look at the photos that will come up. Plus I don't think anyone else would want to see either! If you want to look, just google megacolon in rats or something)

It looks horrible and I am glad we don't have it really in this country!

I have some exciting news!!!
This Monday, my new cage should get here! It is a single critter nation, and I'm so excited! I've already gone to my local fabric store and picked out a few yards of fleece. I hope Zeus and Oreo enjoy it! I'll post a pic as soon as I set it up.

I have the UK equivalent and I can say that they are HUGE, even if its the single, still loads of room. Your two boys will have loads of fun in their new cage! It will probably look bare when you first put them in, depending on how many toys you have! Might find yourself going shopping in a desperate attempt to fill the cage!

I'm thinking I'm probably going to fill it up. I've already picked out a bunch of toys to use! I have a really cool fleece I think I'm going to use. It's a super cool rainbow tie-dye! The theme is going to be PUNCHI! I have a bunch of colorful bird toys I'm going to include. I can't wait!
