Default More kittens?

It seems Mama cat is getting bigger, and today, for the first time she is asking to go out the door. I think she may be close to having new kittens. Before I took them in, a neighbor had told me she thought mama cat was pregnant again and I thought she might be too. I've been watching her and noticing her size. I have set up a box with newspapers under the stairs in the hallway (there is another door for privacy for her if she wants to go in there. I can't let her outside just yet, it's far too cold. Daytime temps are only 18-21 degrees F here with nighttime temps as low as 1 degree F! Too cold for babies. Well, at least if she does have another litter, I should be able to socialize them enough to get adopted. One of the 2 older ones is getting braver each day. She gets closer and closer to me and tries to meet Yoda through the gate. So, my cat adventure continues.

Oh dear - is there any chance she can be trapped and spayed after this lot Drk or else she will have litter after litter won't she Is there a humane society that might help trap, neuter and rerelease her?

Oh wow, I can't believe you still have them! And kittens born under your stairs would be so exciting! Kind of. We had a cat have kittens behind my brother's bed. Scared the living daylights out of him when he heard the noise

LOL. I have every intention of having her spayed Souffle. She has been inside with the older kittens all month with me. She's not going to be released until she is spayed. Once the weather warms up my friend and I are going to bring them all to the vet to be spayed. I can't go out in the cold, it messes up my bones too much. So, early March is projected for the spaying. By then she should have had the babies. My friend and I both have carriers, so we should be able to get all of the cats taken care of. Then mama will be fully released. If, by then, the older kittens are tame, I will see them re-homed. Same with the new litter. If the older kitties are still not socialized enough to be adopted I will still be feeding them and offering them a place to stay in bad weather if they want it. From what the neighbor says, Mama cat was only a kitten herself when she first had Yin & Yang. She is not totally feral. She will allow people to approach her kittens and will bring them to be fed. I think she was thrown out by someone. This was a housecat once. Ah well, as long as she needs me, I will feed her too.

Aww, sounds like my friend's cat. She was dumped outside as a kitten too and had multiple litters before she was caught. In spite of seeming to be completely feral she was tamed (mostly) and has spent many years in a loving and warm home. There's still hope!

Not sure this has been thought of but do be sure her older kittens are not near her after the new litter especially if either are males cause Momma will come into estrus only hours of birthing the new litter and intact son will breed her again.

Thank God
Momma is so pretty with her tuxedo suit on. Wonder what color the new kittens will be?
