Interesting mouse fact for you - apparently satin mice have different coloured teeth to non-satin mice We got told when we had the litter - Arecales is a satin and the tooth colour was suggested as a way to confirm/deny the idea that at least one of the litter might be satin. We never did check his teeth but after a while we've become sure he is anyway and I figured it was an interesting fact to pass on while I remembered it
(I think the difference is that satins have white teeth instead of yellow but don't quote me on that)

You just can't resist the temptation can you?
I don't blame you one little bit - they are so cute! Love the name coconut. They both look so young.
Esmy The Rescuer. I love mice well the white chocolate ones lol, only joking!
I've never had mice so keep me updated on their progress!

Me again! Forgot to mention your Chinese hamsters. What kind of place is it - when the cages aren't well kept and rarely cleaned? Then getting then age wrong of the hamsters - there's a big difference in hamsters at 6 weeks and 6 months.
I'm just glad you went in when you did, all 4 are going to be looked after and loved.
Amen to you xx

Kyrll that's interesting! I have no clue how I could check their teeth though. lol I guess scoop them up with a blanket (when adjusted) like I did Jerry. She is sooo shiny though, like silky looking.

No Lizzy, they were telling me to take them home and I felt obliged to do as they asked. It's the only shelter in the area that will take in small animals, and not happily I guess. They have volunteers that do things around the place, but I don't think the volunteers know how to handle them, so it just doesn't get done. :/ They called the Chinese Hamsters gray hamsters and didn't care what kind they were when I told them or care that the ages were wrong. Thanks, I took on a big task but they are so cute!

Er... My only answer to how to check the teeth would be with difficulty I'm afraid lol

The mice look really cute and curious. I'd love to see the "grey hamsters" *smacks forehead".
Chinese hamsters, that is.

Kryll, yeah, thanks. lol If I really wanted to know, I could use the towel method like I did with Jerry when I had to syringe his medicine. The girl is definitely, without a doubt, shiny. I'll see if I can get a good picture of it.

DrK the girls really are so adorable and do look at me very curiously. Come by any time! lol At least they got the color right. Points for that? lol You may also be surprised if you are expecting to see 6 month old gray hamsters and see they are clearly youngins. lol Especially since they came in as a litter of 5. First clue? lol
