Default 2 New Turtles Today!

So I've had Rally and Casper (I might not have introduced him...) for a while, and I'm so in love. They're box turtles. They are so precious, and full of character. They are, however, very hard to keep. They need lots of different foods, lights, and tons of out of the pen time. Therefore, people get them often (because they're gorgeous) and quickly realize they can't take care of them. So there's plenty of boxies to go around!

Today I'm getting two more little guys. I think it's a male and a female. I'm really not sure yet, having only seen videos.

I'm trying not to get too excited, because if they don't eat, aren't happy, or anything else, and I can't fix it, they will have to go. I really hope they like it here.

One is super outgoing and awesome, and is never still apparently!

One is really shy, and only comes out to eat. It has a crack in the shell over the head, but it's healed up now. I'm sure it will come around. I'm thinking of separating it until it gets a bit more brave.

Anyway, super excited!

I love box turtles! I haven't had any myself but some other members of my family have and they're just adorable One of my family's turtles had a slight crack in its shell but it healed over really well and she became such a happy and inquisitive turtle as she got braver.

I'd love to see some pictures of them and I wish you good luck with getting the new ones I hope they settle down quickly and have a great time with you, they sound so cute

I know nothing about turtles, least of all boxies so I too would love to see some photos please.

Do they have far to travel to get to you (obviously not under their own steam)? I hope the both settle in with you and the others.

The car ride was about 1 1/2 hours, they slept most of the way! Photos soon.

Thank you!

They're here! Male and female, female being the shy one. I've put them away now and they've buried themselves, but I'll get them out tomorrow to feed them and will take pics! The female is a lot like Rally (an orange patten) and the male is really different, he's almost golden. Stunning! Pictures soon.

Congratulations! I am glad that they had a good journey and quickly buried themselves once in their new home to sleep off their "excitement.

I am more intrigued than I was before having now read your description of their colours. So looking forward to seeing the photographs.
