Whoops... As usual I did really badly keeping the thread up to date lol

Needless to say all pups have names now

There were four boys and three girls, and looking at the pics again the bottom pic last time was the four boys. Rauta (Rautanenii) was at the back, then left to right at the front it was Arecales, Quercus and Schinzi (Schinziophyton). The black and white girl is Carya, the two brown and white girls are Castanea and Heyana. All seven are nut related, just not as obviously as the other mice are.

I've tried to get more pup photos since they reached four weeks old and so far I've got a load of bad ones lol

Since we got the mice... The boys have now all fallen out. First we had Wheelnut, Conker and Coconut neutered, unfortunately Conker didn't make it through the surgery but Wheelnut and Coconut were reintroduced last Wednesday and seem happy having a friend again
Then Butternut and Filbert were neutered and they'll be able to be reintroduced to other mice in about two and a half weeks time. Then Peanut and Nuthatch fell out and we've decided its in their best interests to stay single, so they're now single males. Most recently the four male pups fell out and now all four are booked in to be neutered next Wednesday, six weeks after that we can look at starting to reintroduce them.

As far as the girls go... Duskmouse and Stitch now live together without any other mice after both were diagnosed with cancer, but they're doing well despite their lumps. All fourteen of our other female mice were introduced and are living together happily in Fwirls old cage

Eventually we hope to have most of our mice living together as a big group, but its probably not going to happen for a few months yet. Anyway... Here're some relatively recent pics of a few of the boys

Firstly... Butternut showing off that bar chewing does work! It got him upgraded from a savic rody to a duna fun.

Filbert

Thanks Arecales is fluffier than Nuthatch, but he's also harder to photograph...

The big group of girls have only had access to half of their cage until today, so today we gave them access to the whole cage and added the full length shelves we have for it. They do have more toys to go in but we're taking it slow to make sure they don't end up falling out over anything

Thanks We got the cage for Fwirl but she doesn't need it anymore and we decided to use it for the mice instead - with a group as big as ours we want them to have plenty of space and I think that counts

My mind boggles! How do you keep track of all their names??? That's a great cage; they are very lucky mice to have got you for sure

Thanks both

BrainGirl, when we got 13 mice at once we made a list of colour/markings/name and checked that whenever we were unsure until we learnt them lol
Apart from that we remember them because we're used to having them around Its the same as remembering the hamsters really... Except more of the mice live together

I've sorted through the photos of the girly mice from tonight, not all of the girls are in the photos but the ones who explored first are all visible
