I used to hog sit for a hedgie named Harley back in high school. He lived in an elementary school special ed room where my mom works so he stayed with us over breaks. They are so fun, and little smarties! Harley also dragged stuff around and would hiss if you took it away.

He's adorable! I was wondering, is he smelly at all? I've never had any contact with the pygmy hedgehogs, but i know when I've looked after wild ones until they're big enough to be released, they really smell!

Pru, no, well not really. He uses a litter box, but I dump that out and his cage is fine. He gets weekly baths as he poops on his wheel then proceeds to run through it....
So, this is Basil, mid taming. This was the first time he ever approached someone

When I picked Basil, at a park, he promptly began to self-anoint. He licked the table! Then his back. It was so wierd! Anyway, he does it all the time(he is right now)! Anyway, this is a good example of Mr.Grumps!
