Re: My Pets(and the crazy/adorable/annoying/perfect things they do)
Thanks, and no, that's not true AT ALL. Gosh, the things they tell people to get them to buy something! Bettas are the #1 abused fish( and animal I think? ) in the US. Bettas love big tanks as much as any other fish and require a five gallon tank to thrive, and as fish-keepers know, that's actually pretty small. But they love ten, twenty, thirty gallons as well. I grew up thinking that the red ones were mad and the blue ones were happy! Ha! Aaaannnnyyyyway, here's Mio(that girl likes to have her picture taken, ok!).

Re: My Pets(and the crazy/adorable/annoying/perfect things they do)
Update: We lost poor Eclipse. He had an overall bad life, I know, but I like to think that in his last few days, he wasn't rotting in a cold cup, like thousands are, but he was in his big, warm, tank, next to his best friend, and a bunch of other things. He was loved and that's all that matters, right?

Re: My Pets(and the crazy/adorable/annoying/perfect things they do)
Sorry for your loss of Eclispe. Bettas are lovely fish but you are right, they do not belong in cold water in small cups. Bettas are considered tropical so need a heater/heated water to thrive. Shops and outlets who sell Bettas any other way are breaking the law, or at least, flouting the laws that say what a creature requires to live properly. I recently looked into keeping a Betta but have shelved the idea because of the fact they require a tank heater, water changes and various other considerations, so although those didn`t worry me, I just don`t feel fish are for me.

Thank you. I love all animals and it makes my stomach hurt to see animals in tiny cups that. It's a horrible practice.

And kudos to you for knowing that a pet wasn't right for you BEFORE you bought it! Here's Dagny puppy.

Hey everyone! I just got a new pet! I'm so excited! A little baby boy, a tortoise. I love him so much already! Name suggestions, anyone?

One of my turtles, the youngest, Fudge hanging out with a carrot and some lettuce. Because he's cool like that.

This is a picture of a tortoise and a turtle. Notice that they are DIFFERENT ANIMALS ENTIRELY. Sorry, I have a bit of a pet peeve with the whole turtle/tortoise difference. The turtle is three months older then the tortoise.

Wow, all of your pets are just lovely. You must have you hands full looking after them all but I bet you love having so much company

Re: My Pets(and the crazy/adorable/annoying/perfect things they do)
There's never a dull moment; a turtle needs her shell cleaned, or a dog needs to be fed, or a gecko needs her picture taken, something!
Believe it or not, these turtles are the exact same age, they're brothers! This is Raccoon, the biggest, and Pineberry, the smallest.
