Unhappy Dog supplements

Hi everyone I have a 5 year old gsd, staffy cross who is starting to get very stiff joints. Has anyone ever used supplements for their dogs ?? If so does anyone have any recommendations

I used to simply use cod liver oil for my old Jack russell when he became arthritic. Dogs love the taste too, get the oil rather than capsules and pour it into/onto his food.
i did also use some other form of oil but can't remember what it was called but you can get it from most pets shops or places like Wilko's (I think it was a bob martins brand, called something like joint care).

Have you checked out about this with the vet? Five is a bit young for joint problems although I think GSD can get hip problems if I remember correctly. Is your dog overweight? Only asking as that can cause joint problems too.

I would see what the vet says & take it from there.

Best wishes,

shiny

Headin to the vest tomorrow they did say about 6 months ago they were a bit concerned about her hip. Yeah gsd are prone to hip problems and staffs are prone to arthritis quite young. No she's a health 23kg, once she's up and on her feet she's fine still running around like a pup it's mainly the morning she struggles xx

I don't know if they're just for senior dogs but you can get joint care chews. A bit like the dentastix but for joints instead. When my old dog was still alive, she had her joint care chew in a morning and her dentastix chew in an evening
They really helped her
