Default My other rodents (pic overload)

As well as looking after the hams I have many other pets. I thought I'd start out with my guinea pigs and ratty. I'll hopefully be adding more to them soon, each piggie needs a friend and I'm hoping to get Gary the ratty a pal or two soon as well.

Clive, my baby boy being a pumpkin for Halloween. He got me back into keeping piggies last year.

Wigner who is named after a famous Physicist. He's so soft and satin like, he has the face of an angle but is a little devil for bar chewing!

Kevin who originally came to me with Richie. Sadly Richie died late last year, he is missed a lot. Kevin is totally blind so is a nervous pig, he loves it when I read to him though.

Sir Squilliam-Fancyson is my latest piggie. I tried bonding him with Clive recently but unfortunately that didn't work out. I can't help but snuggle with him, he has a beyonce booty.

Gary is my baby ratty who I rescued recently. He had been attacked whilst being introduced to some 'friends'. Fortunately he managed to get away but he has a huge scar across his belly. Hopefully I'll find him some real friends soon.

Lovely piggies and Gary is sweet. I kept rats in my past and love them. Males can be tricky to introduce but maybe a couple of youngsters would help rather than adult males? Castration is also an option then he could live with the laydeeeeeez! A good vet would do this for you. Surgery is always a worry though. Many rats and mice get neutered to allow them to live with the opposite genders.

I'm looking into baby males. I personally don't feel that the risk is worth it considering rats will live with others of the same sex, unlike most mice. I have quite a good small animal vet and he won't neuter rats for this reason, it isn't necessary in his eyes. Hopefully I'll find him some babies soon and he can play at being the uncle (:

Sounds good. I`m not a big fan of neutering either but I know it`s something most male mice have done now to allow them to live with other mice. Although I have read it can cause a kind of osteopenia which is a type of arthritis, so given those findings, I`m not a fan of neutering males either. Hope you manage to find some youngsters.

Loving them, especially Clive, what a gorgeous boy. And poor Gary, I hope he will find some proper friends soon and become trusting again. good on you for rescuing. It s great to see that other people are rodent mad too Syrian hamsters are still my all time favourites but I still love all my other kids the same and wouldnt miss them for the world

Hello fellow ratty owner I'd try not wait to long and get some eepers whapped in with him to have abig snuggly ratty pile whoever said males are hard to introduce, I think you mean adult males to another adult male x

They are all wonderful. I've been considering getting a rat. My sister thinks I've lost my mind altogether. I love Kevin's hair.

Kevin definitely has a funky hair do, it's murder to upkeep though and he's a big diva about having it cut.

I'm definitely getting Gary some friends ASAP, I've been looking into local breeders and reckon a couple of babies are the way to go. I'm terrified about introductions but I've been reading a lot so hopefully it will go fine.
