Default Hammocks for mice?

I keep my mouse, Yankee, in a ten gallon aquarium with a metal-mesh lid. He loves to climb, so I was thinking he might enjoy a hammock. Has anyone here given their mice a hammock? Can anyone suggest any other things I could put in there for him to climb?

My mice LOVE hammocks, all my past mice have loved hammocks too.
I never buy expensive ones though as they just get pooped in! I just use old clothes
A great one my girls loved was an old racer back vest top, folded over in half and all 4 corners tied to the cage....it had loads of levels this way and lots of openings too, my mice were always in it.

Other things to climb on
- Dressing gown cord threaded through the bars (or attatched to the glass) making 'walk ways' or have them hanging to so mice can climb right up them.
-Bungee cords (you know those stretchy things with hooks on the end) plaited together and attatched in the cage. Again my mice loved these.
- Rope ladders.
- Cargo net, you can make your own there are tutorials online.
- Wine racks are always great for climbing.
- Hang millet sprays from the top of the tank, mice will climb up those.

I used to make mine from old off-cuts of fleece or charity shop baby clothes! The sleeve off a fleece top can be cut off and straps sewn onto the ends to make a fleecy tunnel.

Inside a tank though, you might need to put a shelf inside for him to be able to reach a high hanging hammock or tunnel. Mice do like to climb, but try and keep things easy for him to get in and out of easily. A simple wooden half shelf made from an old pine shelf and a ramp leading up to it would be good. Legs for the shelf can be made from blocks of wood and nailed in each corner. Or you could use large fiddlestix ladders!

My meeskers also love their hammocks - they have a corner one and one like an envelope which they nest in. I found the parrot section of the pet shop great for mouse toys - the rope toys and wood/rope perches are favourites. My friend also uses rope dog toys.

Oh my mousies ADORE hammocks! I have a big rat one from Zooplus for my group of 7 girls... my 2 boys just have a random piece of material made into a hammock which they love. I am yet to give my trio of girls a hammock though *must do*
