Re: Introducing rufus
My first love in rodents was gerbils. Rufus is completely beautiful. Gorgeous eyes. Seems to be very lively and curious. Good luck with him.

Re: Introducing rufus
That`s a shame intros didn`t work out with Ruben Kirsty but hopefully with Rufus being younger? things might go better. Have they been introduced right away or are you useing the split cage method first? Really hope things work out this time. x

Re: Introducing rufus
I'm using the split cage method first I have removed all the toys and am going to switch them frequently, someone said I'm giving them to much space and I should put them in something smaller they are in the 3ft tank so don't have that much space each and I would feel cruel if I made it any smaller. I'm really hoping that with a baby gerbil it will be easier Zach is pretty laid back Ruben was the feisty one who was always biting zach

Re: Introducing rufus
Your tank size is fine. They can see and smell one another and hopefully form a friendship soon. A lot will depend on Zach and whether he`s `laid back` enough to accept another male into his life. Some males just don`t have the attitude once split or have lost their cagemate. Although male gerbils are easier to pair up. Females are not!
