No, they are not a domesticated species - they are actually very angry and do not like to be touched
AT ALL.
A woman I know who owns two long-eared, was bitten so hard she had to put freezing water on her hedgie before it would let go
- Nova is very special. She's very friendly and curious, and can be handled when she's out of her cage (I still need to use gloves when I take her out of her cage - mostly, because my parents' dog tries to squeeze his head inside her cage when I open it, and she gets scared of him) - she still runs to me when I open her cage
It needs a lot of work to make them so friendly
