Please welcome Tarrin the ratty
Hello all,
Had my new little black hooded ratty picked up on Sunday and so far intro to my group seems to be going fab.
He is very tiny, lively and always wants to play. I do lightly regret not getting him a another baby to work his energy off with but I always said I wanted my group to be 6 and I am sure he will be fine.
Everyone was moved into the big main cage with less toys last night, I have just seen a few little play fights but more because he was being very hyper.
He is shoulder trained already and loves my sleeve, I think he will blossom into a beautiful handsome lad.
During intro
Sleepy from a long day traveling & meeting new brothers
Hanging out
The whole gang

Awww, Congratulations on your new rat Nat He is lovely
Will they all just live together then? I didn't realise that rats were that sociable to just accept a completely new rat.

Re: Please welcome Tarrin the ratty
Hes adorable, looks very much like my Crashdown (but with a more complete tail!) I love the name as well I think you made the right choice We found that the play fights when we added just a young Boomer in escalated but Boomer was a bit of a special case.... I am sure he will have a wonderful life with his new brothers and I agree 6 is the magic number

Its not as simple as just throw them all in but they are very very sociable and by and large introducing new rats is a smooth process (although it can take a little time) and they love new company.

The two larger blue boys are called Stitch (he has a chunk out his ear too now like the Disney stitch) and Remy.
The all black is Dodger
The white husky is Kimble
And the white with the black face is Blasco or Blas/Blasie more as I call him, he came with a name
And yes Tammy, it's easier to intro a baby to an adult group, my lot are pretty laid back anyway and only have the odd scrap so the breeder felt I was ready to try a lone intro. He has been in two foster groups while I arranged transport and i've been told he is a play fighter so I think in a few days that may increase but so far the intro has been a breeze! Ratties are social pack animals so unless there are any serious personality clashes they tend to be ok as a very general statement, why I like them, one cage, many personailties and ratty snuggle piles

Gorgeous! How did you get them all to stay for one picture?! We've tried to get our 5 in one shot with the bribes of food, but they start running around and chasing each other for it >.< (Especially Duchess, she doesn't want treats unless it belongs to someone else, then she hides it from them )
