RH - Thanks for giving me some info on what to feed him.He is totally unable to fly and won't even attempt to. His owner doesn't want him, so like you say he would most likely be 'disposed of' due to be being no good
. If I'd have left him be he would just wander around until a cat got lucky as he wouldn't be able to escape one, and as he had no intention of moving, it would only have been a matter of time. Don't think he knows how to find food either as he was starving when I caught him again. If he could fly I'd have let him be, but there's quite a few cats around here and I don't want to find him torn up in the road one morning.
Lil Miss - Actually it was my parents who told me to keep him! We've grown attatched to him after looking after him for a fortnight, and as his original owner no longer wants him, at least he has a home where it won't matter a bit that he can't race. As he can't fly, it doesn't need to be a high aviary as he can't get more than 5 inches off the ground! If he ever does realise how to again though, we have a large front garden which a flying type aviary could be put in without much problem. My Dad is already very fond of him, so he'd make him a cage no problem. I am going to take him up to the vets at some point this week as I want him checked for any 'nasties' so they can check his wings there to see if there is actually anything wrong with them.
