Default Guinea pig holiday pen - seems a good buy

After looking for a while for suitable flat pack type accomodation options for taking Artie my elderly guinea pig on his holiday at Easter with us I decided to get a fold down puppy play pen from Ebay.

Ordered on Wed night and it arrived today, I am impresed with quality and ease of use.

Artie went in it to have a look and will spend time each evening in it so he gets use to it before his vacation.

He seemed to like his initial visit - straight to the food and he had a wash and a kip - sure signs he feels happy.

The pen folds flat in a bag that will easily fit in the car and Artie will travel in a smaller carry bag that he can be taken out of the car for any cafe stops on route.

I got one of these:

It will be nice not to be crammed in the back with a cage digging in my side

Thanks he really seems to like it. Seems ideal for travel - hope it fits in my room on holiday.

Think the fleece was Dunelm Mill? The cozy beds are made by a lady from the guinea forum - he loves them and spends most of his time in them

I shall need to get another fleece soon as a friend is going to make me some more beds/bags.

Hey, do u think this would be suitable for syrian hamsters? I'm looking for a play pen to put on my double bed. I'm always chasing the hams as they dive off the bed. I've tried a cardboard box with the top & bottom cut out but they push under it. I want something I can put their toys in & know their safe.

I would think a ham would have chewed out in 5 seconds flat, try a box without the bottom cut out, that's what we use or search playpen at the top - lots of good ideas about

Awww, Artie is lovely Glad you are sharing your great find with us - and I know what it's like to have a cage digging into your side for an entrie journey too. Not fun, lol.

Artie is a little star! Very placid friendly chap. Was from Walsall RSPCA - vets think he is anything from 5 age wise but I'll never know!

Hamsters I agree would be out in no time very easy escape routes I'm afraid.

This will be great to pack in the car and Artie will travel in a small travel holdall type pet carrier - will I feel be best as he likes to stay asleep in his cosy sleeping sack and he is not a guinea who gets all soggy so will be good.

Will I'm sure get lots of guinea on holiday pictures to share
