My Disgust. RSPCA, Blue Cross
I am disgusted how people can treat there pets, i have one hamster (hammis) and he lives in a lap of luxury(pics soon). but after reading things in the paper a while back i found out that people are so cruel to animals.
we are meant to be a animal loving nation but the things i here, ie, i read in the newspaper that a women left 8 hamsters on someones doorstep because she couldnt cope with them. and a man who left his dog to starve because he couldnt be bothered to pay for food bills, leaves me in disgust at these peoples behaviour.

It's true, there are many cruel people in this world. This sort of thing happens all the time. I can’t understand or even begin to comprehend why someone would leave hamster on an anonymous persons doorstep when there are plenty of shelters who would take them and probably understand the person's situation and without judgment.
It’s lack of common sense, lack of compassion. *shrugs* We have some shows in the US on Animal Planet about welfare animals organization who investigate cruelty cases, some of the stuff I've seen on that show is horrible.
Perhaps on a more positive note we should think about the caring and kind people who go out of their way to protect animals and foster animals.

There is a series on British TV (quite late at night though) that shows some of the horrible things RSPCA inspectors have to deal with. There are hundreds of animals put down every year in rescues accross the UK because noone wants them. I would like to encourage everyone to go to a rescue centre rather than a pet shop to get a new pet, wheatever species it may be they are looking for.

I know, it is terrible. It's like what they say, 'A dog is for life, not just for Christmas'-if you can't care for the animal, you should never have taken it on in the first place.

I agree with you all and it is not just our animals either. The things people do to fellow human beings is beyond belief too. Let's hope we can do all we can to promote kindness and a loving attitude to all living things.
