Best wheel for a Syrian hamster?
What wheel would you recommend for a syrian hamster? I was considering buying a 9" Silent Runner Wheel but it's very expensive. Of course if the wheel is good quality and is suitable for my hamster then I don't mind buying it. The main thing I care about, besides it being comfortable for the hamster, is that it is quiet as the cage will be in my room. Would a Silent Runner be the best option? Or are there better options? Let me know!

The 12" Silent Runner is considered the best by many. It's completely silent, stays silent, and won't be outgrown unlike the 9" size which would unfortunately most likely get outgrown.

Re: Best wheel for a Syrian hamster?
I have bought several Silent Runners, and ALL of them have been great and completely silent — the only sound I ever hear are my hamster‘s little paws running on the wheel, which is a delightful thing to hear and certainly would never wake me up. Also, I have a 12-inch wheel for her right now, and it seems to be the perfect size. (She is a rather substantial-sized Syrian, probably around 250 grams or so.) For me, it was absolutely worth the cost.

Re: Best wheel for a Syrian hamster?
Silent Runner hands down is the best wheel I have ever had. As chicleteer says all you hear is the pitter patter of paws running- so cute. I would recommend getting the 12 inch though, as I had the 9 inch wheel for Luna(220g Syrian) to start with thinking it was big enough and then one day I really looked at her using it and I was like why on earth did I buy this size, (because a pet youtuber said get a 8.5-12 wheel for a syrian) it's too small, her back wasn't arching but she was a big girl in it. She looks far more comfortable in a 12 inch. I even have the 12 inch for my smaller Syrian Star (150g), she can get away with the 9inch but she fills all the space up in comparison to the 12 inch. the trixe 28cm is not a bad option, mine is quiet but it bangs on the stand so I use it as a spare for when they are running around. The silent Spinner I got was so noisy, worse than the trixie, it got sent straight back. I know the silent runner is expensive but it is worth the investment and if you got the 12 inch it would last you a long time. I actually have a video coming out on this next monday on my channel if that's not too late for you to wait and watch, although there are a few other videos on this.

Re: Best wheel for a Syrian hamster?
I have a 28cm (approx 11") Trixie Wooden Wheel and my male Syrian LOVES it. I tried a couple of different ones first that claimed to be silent and they were so noisy!! Plus my hamster didn't think much of them and since buying the wooden wheel he goes hell for leather in it every night! It is also silent apart from the cute pitter-patter of tiny feet. I have never tried the Silent Runner but that sounds good too!

Re: Best wheel for a Syrian hamster?
I second the Trixie wooden wheel. Eddie doesn't like the closed in plastic ones or the curves silent spinners but has definitely used his wooden one well. It's still holding up and perfectly silent after nearly 2 years of near constant use.
