Re: Can Pets at Home refuse me back my hamster?
wahoo so glad you got him back I don't have a pets at home near me so luckily the pet shop i got peggy from is really nice! But who knows i might have a bad experience in future, hopefully not
Yh its stupid to have cardboard boxes if you have a bit of a journey but i suppose its cheap for them. I've got an aladino guinea pig carrier (i think thats what its called)

There you go, I couldn't get a clearer one yet, I don't want to bombard him with lots of camera!
He has been home 3 hours so far..has climbed all his cage, is currently running laps on his wheel, been in his house so seems to be fine
Got the probiotic, it says one spoon per 200ml so will make that up and fill the water bottle.
so... names??? xxx

Glad you've got him back now I think he looks like a Bear, Jet or Taz would really suit him too.

Re: Can Pets at Home refuse me back my hamster?
Fab to hear he is home again. Well done for getting him back and hope he settles down well. Take he very easy with the wee man as he has already had a lot of stress. He must be a fiesty lad. He will likely already be a bit tame as he will have been handled for the meds.
I think you are meant to change the water mix daily as it goes off. He should have it till he is better. You can sprinkle the powder on the food if you prefer too or mix in a little porridge.
I see you have bars on the upper level of his cage and these will be sore on his foot. Can you get a bit of cardboard or go to the £1 shop and buy a box of the lino floor tiles they sell then line the barred area to make it smooth so his feet do not catch on it. Even a cardboard veg box from the supermarket will do if you cut the floor off it.
His toe will be fine.
If you blow his fur up does he have any lighter undercoat at all? Or is it black to the roots?
What about Bruno or Ebony for a name?

Funny you should say that, strapped some carboard over the top level thinking it may be a problem for him while his toe was sore and he tore it all up in the car journey back! The toe doesn't seem to be causing him any problem, he was in the wheel all night! Monkey barring & holding food fine
Hes a very friendly lil chappie, always sitting up on his hinds and sniffing at the bars at us
My friend wasnt us to call him quashie lol like a varient of quasimodo!!!! lol How mean!
The toe is certainly less 'bloody' it looks a lil scabby though, hard to see but has deff 'shriveled' back.
The probiotic stuff is green! Hard to measure so i did the one scoop in 200ml n then poured that into his bottle with a lil extra water in case it was too strong. He had some chicken which he loved too. My other hammy is a year old today so gave him some probiotic as well, wont do any harm i guess.
Will give him a lil breeze later lol he seems to have all the typical black bear markings, im not good at all the colour decifering lol
HE'S BACK!!! Yayness
xXx
ps. thanks for the advice during all this
