Hammocks -best way to clean

Hello currently in process of sorting out all toys etc. What's the best way to clean hammocks to remove urine and so on! I've checked on forum and it stated a hot wash with no detergent. Is this because any scent could irritate a hamsters skin? Thanks in advance

What's the hammock made of?
When Zeki pees in his fleece snooze cube I give it a quick soak in unscented ham safe disinfectant (I use Safe4) then wash in the machine, no detergent at 30 degrees.

Thanks cypher for your advice /recommendation on pet safe disinfectant. One of the hammocks is made with fleece the other hammock is a flatter fleece texture with hardworking fabric (rat hammock). Going give Safe4 ago, will come in handy for also washing large blankets that were also used for playtime

It sounds as though both hammocks will be fine cleaned that way, I forgot to say I only give them a quick wash, they don't need much really.
I've used safe4 for years now & really like it, the hams really don't even seem to notice it.

That's good to know that your hamsters are happy with this, am going to order from Amazon and give it a go. Will be all nice and clean ready for our next hammie
