Re: Spring is DEFINITELY here!!
With Winnie mentioning it affecting the wildlife, my Dad was off to check for slugs in the garden after reading that the mild winter has created an explosion of giant slugs!
It was springlike here yesterday but back to grey and rain today. Lovely to hear about Coots! It reminds me of the Arthur Ransome books (Coot Club) - I'm not sure I've seen a Coot for a very long time. We do get Lapwings (Peewits) and Corncrakes round here though.
Funny thing about living somewhere rural is you don't get to see much May blossom! Just a lot of green.

Re: Spring is DEFINITELY here!!
Not so good today though the forecast is good for warmth. Was worried yesterday as the Ducks of various types all seemed desperately hungry yesterday, more so than usual. I popped into p@h this morning for the best seed mix they had. Back we went for a walk today. 3coot families around plus the goslings and hungry ducks all got fed! Nature should get back to normal soon.
Serendipity mentioned being rural but no blossom. On our way to the park we cross a road where only cherry blossom trees are planted. It's a very pretty sight now. I had a go at a couple of snaps.

Me too! I'm feeling quite smug about it though because I can go outside without freezing

Re: Spring is DEFINITELY here!!
Nice to know the ducks & other hungry birds are getting fed Coco
That blossom looks lovely, reminds me of the street where I grew up!
Not much blossom here in another rural spot until the hawthorn burst into bloom (soon I hope!) not that I'm really missing out as the garden is full of flowers already, in spite of the weather, just been deicing the birds water again this morning brrrrrrr!

Re: Spring is DEFINITELY here!!
Lovely to see the blossom Coco thank you! The village where my parents used to live had a road called "Cherry Tree Lane" - it was lovely - like an arch of blossom all the way down, ending at the church so it looked like permanent confetti It's a bit more built-up where they live now.
We've had sunshine and showers here last couple of days so April weather in May.

There was a "Cherry Tree Lane" in Mary Poppins too! I believe the "Banks" family lived at number 17!
