UK Photo Driving Licence? Check yours

If, like me, you have a photo driving licence you may not be aware they have an expiry date.
My friend forwarded this e mail to me -

'If you have one check the small details (4b on mine) as they are only valid for 10 years and have an expiry date on them.

This has only come to light recently as it’s just over 10 years since the first ones were issued.

You don’t get a reminder from DVLA & a lot of people are driving around without a valid licence.

Please forward this information to your family & friends'

Although the DVLA site says you should get a reminder 2 months before people have not been getting them in some cases and it is up to you to check.

You also have to pay £17.50 to do it...and prove your identity again...

my bag was stoeln with my license in it and i STILL need to pay 17.50!
