New scam - PayPal this time
Paypal scam. Basically you get an email purportedly from Paypal saying they've deducted £35.50 for your Skype account. There's a button/link at the bottom for you to click on to dispute. If you click on this a fake PayPal page pops up asking for your email and password. If you enter these details your account will be hacked into and they will get control of your account.
You have been warned!
(I'd have copied/paste from my FB feed but it wouldn't let me).

Re: New scam - PayPal this time
I've been getting messages in my junk saying check your paypal account or it'll be suspended or something. And - urgent check this now etc. I haven't opened them and just deleted them.

i check the email pre opening any links if i have opened the email. it never has the right sender @paypal.co.uk
it coud have payepale.co.uk to try and fool people but it will never have it! in other circumtances before clicking links you can always talk to paypal customer service if your unsure

Re: New scam - PayPal this time
Thanks for the heads up. I'll let my dad know - he's an avid paypal-er. I've always told my dad to never click a link to paypal from an email, to always just open a new web browser page & type it yourself. My brother got caught out with that once & he's normally mega astute.

Re: New scam - PayPal this time
its very easy to do especially if your in a rush or distracted but is frustrating when it does happen.
not that it helps but sometimes banks do help if money has been taken (not all) so never suffer in silence either x

Re: New scam - PayPal this time
If you wish to stop those type PP fraud e-mails forward the whole e-mail in it's entire forum to [email protected]
The hackers quickly find your E-mail address gets them busted and quit attempting to trick you.

Re: New scam - PayPal this time
I had one this morning saying the payment of £99.95 for a TV from Asda was deducted. I just checked my bank, saw no difference then deleted the email!
