Snail Party
I don't think we have posted these as we did mean to but then the piccies got swamped by puppy pics!
In the summer one evening it came on rain and a huge number of snails came out into our garden. Pophammy decided George might fancy a bit of socialisation so we gathered them all up and let George meet them. It perked him up no end and he had a spring in his slither for days. We had to watch he did not slide off with a young lady garden snail!
George is a Giant African Land Snail and currently trying his best to stay in his shell as much as possible.

George is fully grown now cee. He is coming up for 3 years old. he is about the size of a man's fist I would say and apparantly they are fully grown when they have about 8 spirals on their shells. I think they can live to 6-7years.
We do have a lot of snails but we don't really mind! We try and stick to plants that snails don't like and wouldn't dream of killing them especially with pellets or anything that might harm other critters.
george is lovely souffle and i love all the new garden friends he has made
