Hi Becky. I've spent a lot of time in and out of hospitals over the years. I am a firm believer in pain relief because you actually heal faster without the stress of pain. I think it is utterly ridiculous in this day and age to not have proper pain mangement when it is needed. There is no need for people to suffer. What a rotten experience for you. I do hope that HC can while away some of the uncomfortable hours for you. I have noticed that time flies when I am on the forum. Great for sleepless nights like tonight! Chin up...we're here for you.
Thank you I know basically everyone but the nurses that day were very pro pain relief for me to be comfortable but to be honest I think the nurses just couldn't be bothered to get it and wanted me out so I was straight home after a cast change to the pain relief I have at home which I know works!
Yup it's brill! You can't get sleep come on HC and have a snoop next thing you know it's 2 hours later :P
That sounds really bad of the nurses - yes there are some that can't be bothered. My Dad was in and out of hospital a lot for a few years and it got to the point where I used to suss out a nice good nurse, take her to one side and say - please can you keep an eye on my Dad while he is here and make sure he has everything he needs - he is quite proud and won't ask twice for something. It seemed to work - except you have to find two good ones - one for each shift!
