Default Hi All .... And a gerbil question

Hi everyone,

I've just realised it's over two months since I've posted. There's lots going on as we're probably moving soon and I've been busy at work! The hammies are all fine though. Basil Stansie just does his Basil things. The puffs are happy living separately and even the doddery Bramley is still going strong at 26 months

A work colleague wants to get rid of her two male gerbils. Her kids have lost interest. I don't think they are very old. She has looked after them but they don't look as well looked after as I or any of you would look after them and they're in a small P&H gerbilarium. I said I might possibly have them but it depends on if I can house them. That is the dilemma. I would not be able to get a suitable tank etc for a bit so they'd have to either stay in their tiny gerbilarium or go in my zoozone 1 if I can make it gerbil safe. What do you all think. I know they can chew I love gerbils and did breed them for a while when I was a teenage before I knew better that is .... Used to keep them in small wired cages then

I would keep the cage they are in until you get a tank setup. They can get out of a plastic cage, They've been there all this time, so a bit more won't hurt. Give them a lot of bathtub time (with supervision, since gerbils can jump pretty high) until you can get a tank,. Put a wheel in the tub too to get them to burn energy off.

Thanks for that. I've decided to wait until after the move. If she still has them and wants to rehome them I'll have them then
