Some of you may remember my post about "catnip ravioli". I make it using the fleece scraps leftover from making chinchilla hammocks. The last batch I donated to a local cat rescue but that just involved dropping the bag of them off at a vet clinic that takes donations for the group. This time I was taking some supplies to the animal shelter; a tank and topper I didn't need plus my bag of catnip ravioli and 3 pocket hammocks I'd made a while ago and never used.
One of those pocket hammocks had been part of a pair I'd custom designed for someone with ferrets. Hers were always tearing their beds apart so I tried to use heavier materials like canvas and Sherpa fleece. She was really pleased with the result but never got back to me to let me know whether they survived her pets! When I got there I discovered that the shelter had just taken in a ferret who'd been found as a stray so he got that hammock right away. He was really sleepy though and didn't want to get up.
Then the kennel attendant said "let's see what the cats think of the toys!" and she went into the cat room and gave one to every cat there. At least half of them were loose in the room and it got so comical to see all these cats rolling on the ground clutching their toys and batting them in the air that she took out her phone and filmed them. I think catnip ravioli is a hit
