Default two pets in four days- its weird

Luckily our vet's almost certain that the two cases are unrelated and it is just a coincidence, but it is still really strange.

We took our six year old black labrador to the vets yesterday as she clearly wasn't well, they give us some medication and told us to come back today if there was no improvement. As far as we could tell Toffee hadn't made any progress over night so we took her back into the vets today were she had a scan. It was discovered that she has closed pyometra, the vets have kept her and are currnetly operating on her and we are going to pick her up this evening.

In the last four days, we have had three vet trips which have resulted two of our pets beening dianosed with Pyometra

Oh gosh poor Toffee and Mischief. It is very serious in dogs but the spay should sort her for good and mean no more lady troubles for her. Hope she is soon home and recovers quickly. xx

A closed pyo can be very serious in dogs so it's good that your vet was on the ball and diagnosed her quickly. I hope her op goes well and she makes a speedy recovery.

Thank you so much. We have just pick Toffee up from the vets. She is still very sleepy at the moment, she has curled up and gone straight to bed.

The vets said they thought the Op has gone alright. I'm pleased that they decided to scan her this morning, they weren't going to originally as she didn't have a particularly high temperature but she was clearly in pain. Apparently Toffee is unusual as she had two separate "pus balls" in her womb rather than just one.

Anyway I hope she will now OK.

Sending BIG healing vibes your dog`s way Truffle. Animals are so resilient, I`m sure she will be wagging her tail again in a few days. x

Oh dear. What a rough time you're having. I'm glad Toffee made it through OK.

Vet visits seem to happen in batches - nothing for ages, then in and out several times in a week
