I have asthma to and found wood shavings have me sucking on my nebuliser like Darth Vader but since using Carefresh I dont have any problems at all, I also find it alot easier to clean with being larger softer clumps and my hamsters paws seem softer and they play more and burrow into it, I hope it works for your asthma to.

Welcome back and hope your feeling better. Personally (and I was too late posting before you ordered Carefresh!) I would have advised non-dusty substrates like Finacard/Bedxcel (the chopped up cardboards) or Fitch. These seem to be the main dust-free alternatives for anyone who suffers allergies/asthma. You may find Carefresh has a fine cadis dust, so I advise wearing a DIY mask when handling it to protect you from breathing this in. Try also to do it outside.

Your hamster is an oldie now anyway so spot cleaning would be advisable rather than full cage cleans. x

Lunar that's good to hear! Hopefully the carefresh will do the trick

Thanks racinghamster - getting back on my feet - i'll have to see what the carefresh is like and go from there - I do have some DIY masks to use also so will give that go too.

I'll keep that in mind in regards to the clean outs thanks!
