Default Went to Petsmart today...oops!

So I didn't buy any living creature(except mealworms for Mio). But I did see some things!!!

So when I first walked in I saw this Jack Russel puppy, so tiny, walking out of the grooming room with a bandana on! He was precious!

Then I went to the reptiles. They had two beautiful leopard gecko hatchlings, a blizzard and a patternless, about 4 inches long. Both were staring up from inside their log. I can't believe Mio was ever that small! But she was, I remember being afraid to hold because she looked so fragile and perfect, with that smile of hers, I though she'd break. As any of you following her story knows, she's tougher than I thought xxx

They also had a little anole, the colour of a lime. They had little bearded dragons too, they were the sweetest little guys...!

Anyway, then I went to the birds. They had so many finches! And a yellow canary. He was lovely, with his yellow feathers. They had a sun conure, she was eating, so I didn't see much of her, but she was so, so, stunning!

And of course, rodents. They had a Chinese hammy, so delicate looking, fast asleep though. And two WW(hybrids) curled up in the glass. And a pack of robos huddled in the igloo. There were two Syrians; one gray, and one cream banded I believe. Both were asleep, one on his back like DrK's Nutmeg!

They had 6 guinea pigs, one was white with a black moustache marking! 3 gerbils and 8 mice were in the last two cages. They ran on their wheels and chewed up their house. Trouble makers! xxx

They had 9 cats. One of which was a huge white snowball! With blue eyes the colour of a swimming pool. They had dogs, obviously sedated, mostly pit bulls and chihuahuas. And a min pin, with big, brown eyes.

They had many, many fish, all crammed into a few cages. Mostly glo-fish and danios.

I got cuttlefish bones, a new hamster food to try, treats, and mealworms. Success!

That's a wonderful description. I felt like I was there with you.

I've printed it out for my OH to use with his GCSE students as they are struggling badly with their descriptive writing and this is a great example to show them. I hope you don't mind.

Aww How you didn't come away with a new pet is beyond me. x

I'm not used to hearing about cats and dogs in a pet shop, it still surprises me though I guess thats the norm in the US. I think that would deter me from going in a pet shop if I went to America though. Would make me quite sad.

That's what I love about more expensive stores, they have such neat and exotic stuff!

Thank you! And no, I don't mind at all. I'm flattered!

It's beyond me too, lol. Yes, most stores have dogs, many have cats. Usually they're "designer" poodle mixes.

I used to go to a pet shop all the time and they started selling kittens, haven't set foot in their in over a year. I don't agree with it at all. Bad enough having small pets who need to live in cages being sold from tiny cages in pet shops without adding dogs and cats too!
Rescues or breeders only for me now I know I can easily get what ever animal takes my fancy.

Stores up here can't sell cats and dogs due to a bylaw, which I love. But it meant that the awesome pet store that was in the mall a 5 minute walk from my house went out of business... but I can get to one on a bus so I mean, not the end of the world.

I went into several pet stores yesterday, but I only look at the hamsters. I've been having fun testing myself on the colours... though it's not that hard when all I get is cream, cinnamon, golden, and sable. :P

I find going to pets at home a treat, I love looking round at all the animals how you resisted buying any of the animals you saw amazes me cause I go all weak when I see their cute little faces.
It was very well written it really was like we were walking through the store with you.
