my email! - default thread subscription

so, since I started HS, I have gotten emails for every single reply to a thread I have posted on.
no offence, but the website is pretty much spamming me. I have searched the user CP for a way to make this stop, but, alas in vain. I have had to consider getting a new email, or somehow block these emails. I'd really like to avoid that. this may concern the mod team, or maybe there is a quick fix.
I'd just really like to make them stop.

Quick links (top bar) >> edit options >> scroll down to thread subscription or whatever it says and change the drop down to "default do not subscribe". Then go into "subscribed threads" (also in quick links) and select all your subscribed threads and at the bottom select "change to no subscription" then delete them all. Don't forget to save between steps.

I had this problem too and it took me a little while to figure out. I had a few after that for some reason but I went back and deleted them in the "subscribed threads" option and now no longer receive emails, I think the system might take a few days to catch up.

This is the view in the 'edit options' tab. The 'list subscriptions' one is further down on the list on the left in the picture where you can delete your already subscribed threads. This will help reduce your email inbox

LOL Vectis. I was going to say the same thing to celmoy. That had happened to me too until I figured it out. Now I just get notified if someone sends me a PM.

Glad I could help! The screenshot was a great idea, you're on the right track if you get to that screen! Just make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom of that page and hit "save"!

It's also worth noting that if you go into "go advanced" below the quick reply box, or hit "post reply" at the bottom of the previous post, or if you're posting a new thread, you can change your subscription for that individual thread by scrolling down to the post settings (below the box you type in). So if it's a topic you're really interested in, or you have an emergency and need advice, you can always be updated about who's saying what

I get the daily emails which I like waking up to. Rather than having emails for every single time someone posts on my threads, I get an email for threads with new comments and the email tells me what the comments are. Very useful
