Guess what we've got?

As some of you might know, we were planning on getting a Duprasi in a few months (as the person we wanted to get one from had a pregnant mum). The breeder supplies our lovely pet shop and we just happened to walk in today to see that some of the last litter were still there. After having a cuddle (fatal, I know!) we decided that we would go and get some lunch while we thought about it.

So after an hour, we went back and guess who we came home with? (it wasn't really an impulse buy as we were planning on getting one - just not quite yet).

So here is our new Duprasi:

As you can see, she is very tame and calm already - just calmly walking from hand to hand and even sitting still for a cuddle as soon as she arrived home with us.

She doesn't have a name yet, we were thinking of something to do with deserts maybe? Suggestions would be welcome!

How about Tihamah for a name? It's a desert in Africa

She looks lovely. Makes the dom spot Chin I came home with today from P@H adoption centre look very small :P

They store water in their tail, a healthy Duprasi will have a large, fat tail. Mum hates rats/mice tails but is fine with hers!

Very cute, I have seriously thought about getting these before. There's a pet shop not too far from here that advertises them on their website but never had any the times I've been in!

She is wonderful! i really like the look of fat tailed gerbils, though theres none round me (im surprised to see a gerbil in a petshop bar pets at home!)
