Default GOING TO THE UK! and paris!

Are there any hamster shows going on from August 8th-15th?
I'm going to be in the UK then, and I've never been to a hamster show!
(there are no hamster shows in Ontario, Canada that I know of..)

edit//
9th August BOWOOD HOUSE (SHOW) SN11 0LZ
Map S.O.E.H.C
10th August BOWOOD HOUSE (DISPLAY) SN11 0LZ
Map S.O.E.H.C

I looked it up!
is anyone going to that one??
I really want to buy a satin hamster. (I've contacted EVERY breeder in my area.. noneeeee have any satins!)

What's the difference between show and display?

Lucky You, coming to the UK & France. There is a show on during your stay at Bowood House, Calne, Wiltshire SN11 0LZ. It's a show on the 9th August and a display on the 10th. It's part of the Southern Hamster Club Listing for this year. Where are you staying when you are in the UK?

Bowood is a great show to come to.
It is held as part of the Wiltshire Game & Country Show - http://www.craft-show.co.uk/countrys..._Country_Show/
so there will a lot to see and do there as well as hamsters.
If you can you should come on the show day as a lot more of us will be there, and obviously a lot of hamsters to see. On display day you will just get to see about a dozen of my hamsters!!

I will most likely be going
Is the display day where you can buy hamsters?
Also, do you think it would be TOO stressful to fly a hamster back to Canada?

i don't think you will be allowed to fly a hamster back to Canada.

That's a long way to go for one day, from France to Bowood!

I've never done it but you'll need to do an awful lot of paperwork and preparation beforehand as you'll need to export the hamster from the UK to France, and then from France to Canada. Animals can only travel in the hold on airplanes and are subject to various restrictions so you need to check with the Canadian authorities about importing a hamster as well as the UK and France for their import/export regulations.

well, i imagine you'd go on the eurostar thingie from Paris to Dover, then from Dover to Bowood is another 200 miles.

Hi Rellen,
I think that Paris to Bowood by train would be a little far for the day.

Paris to London is about 3 hours by Eurostar (although in that direction it's only two due to the time change and 4 in reverse ) Then you would need to travel across London (which can take 30mins to 1 hour). Paddington to Swindon or Chippenham (which are the closest stations) is about an hour, depending on which train you catch and where it stops. Bowood is then quite a drive from either of these stations (you would have to consider how you would make this bit of the journey).

Much as it would be lovely to meet you Rellen, I do think that this might be a bit of a tall order for you and your Grandma.
