Lightbulb Anyone with ferrets?

Hi all! I have 1 hamster but 4 chinchillas, most of them rescues, and my latest needed expensive dental surgery to save her life right off the bat Thankfully she's doing brilliantly and it's heartwarming to see the change in her now that she's been wafted from a place of neglect and pain to a place where someone does strange things to her and forces nasty medicines down her throat

Seriously though, in a bid to pay off my bills fast I've started making hammocks and things, like I make for my own pets but to try to sell locally. Someone wrote to me about the hammocks I had posted (nice, cushy, pocketed things with thick fleece and flannel outsides) but told me he had ferrets who scratched their way through everything he bought. He wanted my opinion on how well mine would stand up to their efforts and I told him I didn't know but didn't think they were strong enough for a really determined animal! But it got me thinking and I decided to attempt to make something stronger and I wanted some opinions on my finished product.

The outside is heavy cotton canvas and the inside is thick berber fleece. The hanging straps are woven polypropylene. My test hammock is only 13" x 20", which to me seems too small for a pair of ferrets but I really don't know exactly how much room they need! I checked on the safety of the materials I used and they all seem to be ok for ferrets but again, I don't know for sure.

If anyone wants to critique what I've done I'd really appreciate it!

I don't have any ferrets I'm afraid but I hope someone will be able to help.
The hammock looks great by the way-you obviously have a lot of skill! x

Thank-you! I love the neutral colour scheme though I don't think the furbabies will care as long as it's comfy

I think it looks awesome, but maybe a big bigger would be good for a pair? I wish I was handy enough to make them lol. My hammies would love them!

Yeah, I agree they should be bigger for ferrets, I was just fooling around with some leftover fabric and made the biggest I could. If they work out I will go and buy some proper lengths of fabric and make "real" hammocks

I've got small ones for hammies, just not in this super-tough material. I haven't given one to Theo because he loves his little house but maybe I should see if he'd love a pocket hammock more!

Oh, and btw, I grew up in the Town of Fort Erie, in Ridgeway to be exact

My parents live in ridgeway lol. That's funny. He may like it more. Mine like the pockets but not regular hammocks so much. I'm going to try to find someone to make me pockets :P
