How to stop bullying on a forum?
Is there any way of doing so? And are the mods allowed to turn a blind eye to it?

Re: How to stop bullying on a forum?
If you are referring to this forum, I would hope that you or anyone else either experiencing, or seeing any form of bullying would contact either myself or any of the other moderators immediately by pm so we can resolve the matter. Bullying is absolutely not tolerated here, and swift measures will be taken with anyone who steps over the line.
If you have any general questions about bullying here, please also feel free to contact me.
If it's on any other forum, I would do the same

I hope so/glad it is!
i havn't seen bullying on HC, I have seen post that the person who posted it didn't like what was said and I have seen posts that have been very blunt, but in a way as to give the correct guidance and information to the postee.
Sometimes you do need to be a little blunt or sound a little harsh, but being polite at the same time/no name calling/bulling it should always be in a informative/guiding way to help the person who posted a question in the first place.

Re: How to stop bullying on a forum?
No its not on HC, I have never seen anything like it on here, or for that matter any other forum I've ever been on. Here members are polite and respect each other's thoughts, not gang up on people, rip them to shreds, poke fun at them, ridicule anything they don't agree with, call them names and label them trolls and troublemakers for daring to have an opinion .

Re: How to stop bullying on a forum?
Just thought if you have gone down the reporting posts & PM's to the Mods & are getting no where, there must be someone who owns the forum if you know who that is you could contact them pointing out the posts & PM's.
I'm not talking about here though lol

Each forum should have an administrator who should mediate what their moderators do and act accordingly if they receive a complaint. For instance on Hamster Central that is Fluffy and he can be contacted on the 'contact us' e mail at the bottom of the page

Re: How to stop bullying on a forum?
If I were you then I would leave, forums are as much of a community but should treat all members with respect and politeness even if there are differences of opinion.
Lots of people forget there are people at the other end of the screen and wouldnt behave like that in real life.
I have been victim to rumour spreading etc, I let it get to me then I realised I didn't know or care about these people, walk away from it x
