I have just read some of what has been said & it is awful. I have also been on the receiving end of stuff like this in the past. It is a awful thing to go through because it actually effects you in many ways to the point sometimes depending what has been said that you try & find a way out of life.

I know you are a strong person Wobbles but please don't go back on their. I know you want to be on their because you want to stop people who are saying these horrible things, you are angry & want to fight back.

Form someone who has been their it is not worth it, you have to let it go

I am also going to agree with what has been said, that forum has no expertise that another forum couldnt offer in a more tactful way. I am a member of that forum however I am more of a lurker as it turns nasty quickly over there and is very "clique"ey IMHO.

I joined this forum and another hammie forum because the one in question was mainly other rodents I'm not interested in.
On most forums there seems to be groups that have been on a long time or just want to tell new members what to do and some will be put off by this.
As amethyst ice said, it's easier to point out faults and dictate to others on forums as you can't see the other members.

I wouldn't bother posting on there anymore!

People tend to gather huge amounts of bravery as keyboard warriors, they are often the first to melt when faced with reality and take to feeding shrunken egos online tucked away safely from real life confrontation.

I don't know which forum be it hamster or otherwise people are referring to, but can we keep the discussion related to how to handle online bulling on here, or in general, rather than referring to anywhere specific, as we are interested in the smooth running and friendly nature of our board as opposed to anyone else's

I hope so/glad it is!
i havn't seen bullying on HC, I have seen post that the person who posted it didn't like what was said and I have seen posts that have been very blunt, but in a way as to give the correct guidance and information to the postee.
Sometimes you do need to be a little blunt or sound a little harsh, but being polite at the same time/no name calling/bulling it should always be in a informative/guiding way to help the person who posted a question in the first place.

When I joined this forum it was out of desperation due to no knowledge of hamsters apart from loving my own. And my hamster was ill and almost dying these forum really helped me to understand and broadening the knowledge about hamster. It might feel like everyone is pointing out and correcting you at first. But hey how else would I know if I wasn't told about and I was the one who is asking questions and others just answering within their ability and limit. If I think this forum or any forum wasn't beneficial to me or my hamster and I felt even remotely bullied I would just pack up and leave. And I would advice others do the same.

No its not on HC, I have never seen anything like it on here, or for that matter any other forum I've ever been on. Here members are polite and respect each other's thoughts, not gang up on people, rip them to shreds, poke fun at them, ridicule anything they don't agree with, call them names and label them trolls and troublemakers for daring to have an opinion.

Wobbles you are at the anger stage. This is horrible & I know nothing I can say will help how you feel right now.

I did the same went to bed seething about the situation & got up the next day seething about the situation for many days.

I hope the anger stage does not last long. You need to do something nice for yourself dose not matter what it is, but more time consuming & needing your attention the better.

I know how you feel

I think perhaps when posting on any forum we should consider how much info we declare as it can be taken out of context or simply used against us.

I find looking/lurkign on forums first before joiining helps me get a feel of how that forum is run and then decide if i wish to join.

It depends what you want from it as well and if you are willing to take any genuine constructive criticisms.

There are hundreds of forums on the internet , we all need to find the ones we fit best with.
