Haha! Definitely not old enough to have remembered the Wombles- Mum thought I'd gone mad when she heard the theme tune. "Why are you listening to the Wombles theme tune? I used to love that show! It's not on again, is it?"

i love that cake! and Orinoco is my favourite! i love (i would say loved but recently got some old VHSs of it...)the wombles the books and the tv version (the good old fashioned one not the modern one). even my car is named orinoco!
There was once a university challenge picture round which was name the womble character. I was so happy one of the few picture rounds i've ever got everything right on!

I was born in Wandsworth which is near Wimbledon Common, as a child my mum used to take me and my brother 'womble hunting' on the common. We also used to sing a what I thought was the theme song... having just googled it we must have made it up!

Our family version:

'Womble down, wimble down, wombledon way,
the wombles of wimbledon common are they'

The real lyrics:

Underground, overground, wombling free
The Wombles of Wimbledon Common are we

yep... no idea why we sang our version!

Um I've got the complete series of the Trap Door, Dangermouse, Dungeons and dragons and Ivor the Engine on DVD somewhere...I learnt to read with some Ivor books...

I adored the wombles and paddington bear, although I still can't stand marmalade, and the moomins and yes I remember button moon, battle of the planets, and return of the...something? Ooh I can't remember the name...
