Re: How do I do it?
Yep you can do it all online and you can request up to (it's either 25 or 50) documents that say you've changed your name and to what to send to banks etc so you can easily get your name changed on the things you need it changed on.
I will also be changing my surname....my mum is paying for it in the new year as my xmas present!

Re: How do I do it?
Have you been known by the other name (the name you want) by more than 5 years? If yes you can easily apply for a new passport and just tick that you want to change your name to the other one. My flatmate has just done it last week.
Known by a name means you would have to be officially registered somewhere by the name you want. My flatmate for example was registered in school by a different name than her name on her birth certificate (which was 15 years ago) so she was able to just get a new passport with the new name.
I hope you understand what I am trying to say here lol....it sounds complicated
