I was born with a cleft pallet and had hearing loss as a result of that. I wore hearing aids for 3-4 years (from the age of two) and suffered ENDLESS ear infection. Then I got grommets. I could hear the birds singing for the first time, and the loud noise of the toilet scared the life out of me. I haven't had a serious ear infection since!

You could be my cousin. She didn't have hearing aids but otherwise it's the same. She's fine now too
