Unhappy Gcse results=my future :|

Hi guys.
My results day is the 23rd of August and I'm absolutely pooing my pants for it.

I'm not so worried about my other results, just science. I've applied to college and sixth form but I want to go to sixth form. They both have the same grade boundaries for acceptance which is a B overall in science. I had to do additional so my result will be Biology, Chemistry and Physics all in one.
I'm really annoyed at the exam paper I had for biology, this is the one I need the most because I want to do Biology A level. The paper was ridiculous, I had spent SO much time revising, removed my social life completely for months and tried my very hardest, then I got into the exam hall and saw the paper and it was just awful - they didn't cover the course, just one tiny part on something I swear none of my books or teachers had taught me. I could have cried, which I did once I left the exam hall.. Totally distraught.

I had a dream last night that I got an A in science which has really annoyed me because it's just teasing and has made me even more worried

I'm planning to take A level biology, psychology, philosophy and photography!

I want to be a midwife so much and am determined to get there and am so scared that I'm gonna be one of the people sat there crying on results day..

I'm sorry that this isn't anything to do with hamsters but I just needed to let it out to people that aren't my friends or family that keep saying 'you'll be fine, you're gonna get what you need' because I know I'm not and it's so frustrating because I've worked SO hard!

Thanks for reading!

i found my biology paper a load of rubbish tbh !
and im quiet worried for my result although im only year 10 but its 25% each on my 3 sciences and my mathsi find out , ive been really worried but i think the trick is to calm down and just think that its not changing when ur getting worked up. when i did an extra gcse in year 9 i freaked out and wouldnt open the results but in the end i new i had tried my very hardest and thats all anyone could ask for.

by the sounds of it you put a lot of effort into your education and i really hope its paid off for you ! luckly im away on that date so they have to post me mine. im sre your be just fine sounds like uve not got anything to worry about!

Good luck on yours & thank you for taking the time to read and comment.. Thanks for the advice. I can't help but worry, it's silly cause I know it's not going to change anything.. It's just so worrying it couldn't affect everything. One silly result. The paper was awful, it's no where near a true reflection of how much I've learnt. Argh

Hey Laurajaey, I know exactly where you are coming from!

I found quite a few of my GCSE's really difficult and as I am in year 11 I am really stressed!

I am sure you will get the grades you need though and if not you can always retake the GCSE next year and then do your AS in your second year

Just relax and stay positive. Remember that there is always another way with education too!

When you do get your results I would really love to know how well you did

Thank you! And I will put my results up when I get them, after I've got past my distraught stage! Just kidding, I'm fine about my other results BUT it's the science that could ruin anything. I'm trying not to worry, but you know what it's like!

Feel free to tell me what you got too! Good luck

I can only say good luck. You never know it might not be as bad as you expect, I understand the whole dream being annoying before i got my uni results this year I had a dream that i'd gotten a AABD and was so happy because i had passed... then I woke up.

Try distract yourself since its already done. (I am aware its easier said than done though).

Sending all the best, I'm in the same position and that day will be so nerve racking.
Its fustrating the physics, chemistry and biology is combined (biology is important for me too) as I had an awful chemistry teacher that didn't even cover the whole syllabus.
I found the biology paper alright, but I honestly have no idea how well I've done in anything!

Anyway, you did your best and thats what matters, I really hope you can get what you want x

Hey! Can I say something as a teacher?!!! Please do not worry too much. I know that seems a stupid thing to say when it is a huge thing in your life at the moment and I do understand that, however you seem so determined to be a midwife and that determination will get you a long way!! Even if your results Are not what you wished for there Are other options and avenues to get you to your destination!! Super good luck to All of you and if I can help to signpost any of you to any academic advice please just ask!

Good luck in your results, believe me you will do loads better than you expect I didn't go to comprehensive school until the start of my GCSE's and didnt revise for the exams (I was overly distracted by hamsters ) and yet I came out with nothing bellow a C, in fact I came out with 2 A*, 3 As, 3 Bs and 3 Cs! So if someone who had next to no education can do that just by guessing their way through exam papers I am certain someone who spent all of their time revising is going to do amazingly!
I was fretting about not being able to get into sixth form too but I managed it and it turns out I loathed sixth form! Couldn't wait to be out of there! I do online Uni courses now and work at the same time so my life turned out fine regardless of my GCSE's, seriously don't panic yourself too much over them!

Plus a little secret, since you weren't taught the stuff on that Biology paper chances are your whole school will get low marks as will many other schools so the examination board will actually lower the marks needed to get an A Its what they do if the paper was clearly bad!
