They don't just do this with GCSEs, they do it to A levels and uni exams too. That's the only way any of my year passed one of our exams, it was horrendous We all just sat in shock afterwards

Good luck to all you GSCE and A level people Just try to relax, too. Worrying about the results isn't going to change them at this point, it's only going to stress you out

Very good luck with your gcse results. 10 years ago this month I got mine and I remember the nerves well!! Don't mean to be nosy but will you not need another science A level to get onto a midwifery course?

Thank you ever so much, every single one of you!

And I've done a lot of research and I've looked on all the university websites in my radius and the only ones that actually ask for specific requirements are EITHER biology, psychology and sociology and I picked all three but I had to change sociology because they all clashed but I have two out of three and they're in an OR category so you don't have to have all of them

Can I say when I took my GCSE's two years back, I got ... (Gulp)

Three U's
Two D's
One E
Three C's
One A

I was so torn apart :/

But. It doesn't end here. I retook math and eng- got the same grade in maths (D) and went up 6 grades in english to a B!! I was so proud. I took a course in business studies and got a distiction* which is worth four a* gcse grades. I then took a course in animal care and got a merit equivalent to four B grades. I enjoyed the course but it wasn't for me. I'm going back to do a higher level (level 3) course in business which is worth three a levels and I can't wait.

Even if you don't get the grades you want- you have another chance. Push yourself, you'll figure it all out eventuaally

I got my GCSE results way back in 1991 and I have to say I was far more nervous getting my degree results this year because not only was I the oldest in my class but I did it part time for the last 6 years!

I am sure you will be plesantly surprised when you get your results because all of the worrying in the world can't change anything. Yet I still know you will worry as I did this year because we are human. And don't forget, you are young and you have choices if you do not get the results you want, such as re sits, or even taking another equivalent course. As has been said, you are very determined and you are a good student, and you can get far on that alone.

Good luck I redid my maths GCSE this year as did badly in maths and science when took them first time around! I'm 23 this year and doing a degree in Early Years Education and working full time - have to have been working with children for 2 years and for more than 16 hours a week to do the course. I find out how I did in my exam on the 23rd as well and am really worried but working is helping me to not worry too much about it, just every now and then I think ahhh not far away now! I'm also doing a Physics GCSE at the moment as well through ICS as hope to progress into teaching so need my maths and science!
But fingers crossed on the 23rd we will all have passed our exams, and even if we don't it's not the end of the world as we can retake them. Also being determined to have a career as a midwife will help you to stay focused on doing what you need to do to get there
