Re: Thank you and goodbye.
I hope you don't leave Hotch and I wish you had contacted me personally before posting this as it was me who made the comment you refer to by PM and I don't want that hidden from the members.
I have never heard of the program myself or seen any editions so would never recognise anyone from it however I have been recently very, very upset over the terrible shootings in America and I made a small request regarding the character pointing a gun in your avatar.
I asked that maybe it could be a picture without the gun.
I'm sorry if most people recognise it and don't mind and I am glad you enjoy your programs.
Accept my public apology for any distress caused and I'm glad you received support during your time of need here.

Re: Thank you and goodbye.
Er... Honestly? I kinda think Souffle had a valid point.
I don't watch the show and did a double take when I saw your pic but left it, figured that if it was a problem the mods'd deal with it. Whats wrong with using another picture? Then Souffle is happy and you're happy. For a family friendly forum I can kinda see the issue with the gun.
The rules here state we can't do things I find a lot less problematic than showing pics with guns in them.
Is it really worth leaving over what you do/don't have as a profile pic?

Re: Thank you and goodbye.
@souffle i genuinely appreciate that message, everyone on this forum has been an amazing source of information and support for both me and my little guy Smoky. Its been an emotional few days of ups and downs.
I do very much now think a line can be drawn due to emotional circumstances all round.. And we can all carry on and have fun.

Re: Thank you and goodbye.
But seriously, why leave it when it upsets someone? Bugged me briefly too.
Just to be clear - I even considered reporting it incase it upset a younger member. I didn't bother but I do think people have every right to want it changed.
Can see both arguments, but think changing it'd have been the most grown up option really.

Re: Thank you and goodbye.
I do not know about the programme's the picture comes from either.
But can understand where Souffle is coming from. There are lots of people on here of different ages some quiet young.
Your picture does make me stop & do a double take. Is there any other avatars from the show?

Re: Thank you and goodbye.
I'm afraid I'm not au fait with the show either, I also hope you will be agreeable with having the character as your avatar still, just minus the gun as a healthy compromise and an end to the incident.

Re: Thank you and goodbye.
I am kinda with Souffle on this one, as my son who is 8 loves to look at the pictures on this forum, and it's not a picture I'd really like him seeing over, as I feel it doesn't quite match this particular forum. However, it would be a shame to lose a member, and especially one who contributes to it and doesn't just lurk!
And just to add... This really is the tamest of forums I've been on, and was shocked when I read your first post. Everyone on here is so lovely! I used to be an avid Mumsnetter. Nest of vipers summed it up nicely. I was once shot down in flames because I agreed that having only one child was really nice and I'd never be able to handle more! I was literally crying into my keyboard! Hotch - it could've been so much worse!
I hope you decide to stay, maybe just with an avatar of a hot guy minus his loaded weapon

Re: Thank you and goodbye.
But it's their profile can't they have what they want ? I understand everyone's points it's just everyone's turned on someone because of a picture , I love this form but im a little complex how one second everyone can be support and say they want them to stay then just make them feel unwanted if this was me I'd be now more towards leaving.
I am aware this a contraversaul comment but so r some of the above .....
