Default Any advice?

I'm waiting for a call back from NHS direct but thought I'd ask on here incase anyone has any advice. I've been laying on my bed watching CSI, and for some reason I'm too hot (like sweaty kind of hot and it's THAT warm in here), my heart is pounding and my pulse is racing ... I'm debating about just going to A+E but knowing me it'll have all stopped by the time I get there ... I've done everything I can think of to reduce my temperature but not sure what else to do?

Are you ill or think you may be coming down with anything?
I only ask because I currently have a chest infection and to start with I kept getting really hot and feeling like you have described.
Or that's what happens when I start having a panic attack too.

I hope NHS direct get back to you soon and that you feel better. x

Do think you're sick or could it be a panic-attack?

Take some painkillers (if you can), drink some water, eat a sandwich, sit and try to breath slowly.

You can try a cool shower and see if that helps.

I'm not ill ... Could possibly be panick attack but I don't feel panicky like I do when I have panick attacks ... When I get up my head starts spinning but that could be because my heart and pulse are racing and because I'm too hot

Yeah, then do like I said before. Painkillers, a drink, food and breath more aware and slowly.
When you feel less dizzy you could shower but till then you can use a damp cool cloth on your head and around your calves and forearms too.

Hope you're feeling better now! For future reference, I often feel like that when I'm either coming on with a fever or just having a hot flash, even very young women can get them, you don't have to be menopausal! They're most common at night, when our oestrogen levels are at their natural lowest. Hot flashes are often brought on by heat, and considering the current weather I wouldn't be surprised if that was the cause. It's usually not a sign of anything wrong, but if you keep getting them regularly or you faint when it happens I would see a doctor. Try staying cool, get a pack of frozen peas or a cloth rinsed in cold water and put on your chest or forehead if it happens again, have a cold drink maybe.
