Default Inkheart :3

Has anyone read this book/series of books? I have read the first two, and they were amazing. I borrow them off of a friend. Found this hardback copy with the original copy for 50p today!! Bargain!!

I know its a kids book! What other kids books do you like? xx

I really enjoy young adult literature, but it took me a while to get into this book and series. I have tons of recommendations if you're looking for good summer reads

I really enjoyed this one. Currently chowing on game of thrones. I read Book of Human skin recently, not for kids but it's amazing and good to have a good hate at the characters!!

- The Mortal Instruments

... I'll post again when I think of more. Those are all series and should keep you occupied for a while

I also love young adult books! I actually liked the film adaptation of Inkheart, but couldn't really get into the book... which was a shame, I really wanted to like it. :c if anyone likes this fantasy style stuff, I would recommend:

- American Gods, Neil Gaiman
- Neverwhere, Neil Gaiman
- The Graveyard Book, Neil Gaiman
- in fact, anything Neil Gaiman lol
- Oryx and Crake, Margaret Atwood
- The Year of the Flood (sequel to the above), Margaret Atwood
- The Handmaid's Tale, Margaret Atwood
- also anything by Margaret Atwood
(if you couldn't tell, Neil Gaiman & Margaret Atwood are my favourite authors lol)

and some from my childhood that I have fond memories of but haven't read in yonks:
- Sabriel, Lirael, Abhorsen (Old Kingdom trilogy), Garth Nix
- The Wind Singer, Slaves of the Mastery, Firesong (Wind on Fire trilogy), William Nicholson
- anything by Dianna Wynne Jones
- The Moth Diaries, Rachel Klein
- Northern Lights, The Subtle Knife, The Amber Spyglass (His Dark Materials), Philip Pullman

can't think of anymore at the moment... really want to re-read a lot of these now...

I had forgotten that "The Golden Compass" is also known as "Northern Lights" in the UK

I was really disappointed that the film adaptation bombed and the other two books will not be made into films
