Little rant

For some reason everything here is MY fault ... I accidently left some clothes in the washing machine the other day as I'd put the washing on before I'd gone to bed that night. The next morning I'd had an appointment to into so totally forgot those things were in there until much much later. One of the other girls who live here put her washing on without checking if there was anything in there. So when I got home I checked the tumble drier as I thought maybe whoever had put the washing on had put my stuff in the tumble drier. They hadn't. I then get into trouble for "tampering with other people's washing"! (I live in a hostel so there's staff here for the others to complain to). Because of this the laundery room is now being kept locked at all times and people have to ask to do their washing - which apparently is ALSO my fault ... Just lately everyone has been complaining about me. I know they don't like me, and to be honest I don't care anymore, but they don't have to be nasty ... It's funny how I get into trouble for accidently leaving something in the washing machine and then person couldn't be bothered to check first, yet none of them ever get into trouble for racist comments they make to 2 other residents just because the staff didn't "hear or see it happening" ... Grrr this place does my head in!

But... it's really easy to check if there's anything in the washing machine before you use it... I actually doubt it was "accidental", because seriously, it's kind of obvious if the washing machine is full of washing because, well, it's full of washing. It doesn't even need checking, you open the door and oh bum, the machine is full of washing, better move it/use another machine/something other than force an extra load into the machine.

^ Yup. I was also just wondering exactly how you can fill a full washing machine with another load without noticing anything. Sounds very "constructed" in order to complain.

There were only 2 of my items in the machine - I had to wash then separately because they had blood on from a nose bleed. She only had to look but she's far to lazy to bother!

Hmmm. I still think that in any communal living arrangement, it would be normal to check the machine before using it. My husband and I do, and we only live with each other. I would think it goes double if you're in a flatshare, and especially in a hostel. I don't think the situation is changed all that much by the machine not having been full to the brim.

Exactly. I ALWAYS check the machine before I put anything in it. Same 9th the tumble drier. You'd think it was common sense!
