Going on Holiday
In the summer which is still a while away, I'm going on holiday for 2 weeks. I'll be leaving Biscuit with my Grandma who will only be taking her out to put her in her ball - not handling her. I was just wondering, will she forget my smell when i'm away and will i have to start from the beginning with taming?
Thanks xxx

Re: Going on Holiday
Hmm, i don't think so but i may be wrong!
I'm going away at the end of July for 9 days to visit family up in Norwich. I'm leaving my hams at my flat and my sister is going to come over and feed them. I have to say I'm really anxious about leaving them!! I worry too much though

Re: Going on Holiday
lol, i know. I'm scared that they'll get ill or something and i don't really want to leave them but I can't take them with me. so sad.
I really don't want her to forget me though Not sure if that sounds silly or not.

Re: Going on Holiday
You'll be fine.
Scamp has times where she doesn't want to be handled for a few weeks at a time (aka wants to stay in her cage because its better than playing with the humans) and she's always fully tame. Even if we dragged her out after 3 weeks of no contact at all she'd still be as tame as if we'd handled her every day inbetween

Re: Going on Holiday
She will. Scamp isn't the only ham we have who doesn't want to come out every day but they all remember what humans are

Re: Going on Holiday
I'm sure Biscuit will remember you.
However, if you are worried about it you can sleep with a few tissues and give them to her the day before you leave. Then, she'll have your scent.

Re: Going on Holiday
We went away for just under a week and Angel got to spend time with her grandmummy (who didn't take her out). When we got back he was super excited to see us because it meant out time! It's not the same as two weeks but I'm sure yours will be fine as others have said. How long have you had Buscuit anyway?
