Not looking forward to tomorrow :(
Tomorrow is the 6 year anniversary of my Dad passing away I always dread this time of year,as part of me still can't/won't accept he's gone.
Me and mum are going shopping later.so will get him a cute little ornament to stand on his grave.
I suppose I'm sharing this with you all.as I am starting to see everyone on here as friends xxx

Oh hon *hugs* I can't even begin to imagine how you feel
Your Dad would want you to be happy though, and remember all the good times you had with him.
Have a good day shopping with your mum xxx

Re: Not looking forward to tomorrow :(
*Hugs* I'm glad you see us friends. I find you can tell forum friends more sometimes. I lost my Dad in 1984. I can remember it as if it was yesterday. We'd just settled down to watch the start of the ladies tournament at Wimbledon. Martina Navratilova had just started to play.
It does get better. It helps to talk about him in a positive light rather than he's not here anymore. Do talk about him as it really does help rather than a forbidden subject. He was and still is a real person.
I talk to my lad about him as it keeps Dad alive in his memory as well. He was only six at the time.

Re: Not looking forward to tomorrow :(
thanks guys.I've got him a nice ornament, so will go down to the crem tomorrow or weekend, see how I feel. I never really feel that close to him at the crem, he loved being at home, and this is where I feel his precence xxxx

Re: Not looking forward to tomorrow :(
It might sound daft but I like to go to the crem. In spring there's all the Spring flowers, Summer the trees are in blossom, Autumn the leaves are red and gold and the squirrels are collecting for Winter which brings the Christmas wreaths on all of the walls. Its peaceful and beautiful. Your Dad will always be with you no matter where you are. Just think of the Crem as his beautiful garden where you can sit awhile. xxx

No it doesn't sound daft atall. my mum enjoys going and looking after my dad and Nans plot, they are a facing eachother in the crem (they died within 9 months of eachother)
I do like going on a nice summer day with a slight breeze and you can hear all the wind chimes tinkling that's comforting somehow
Xxxx

Re: Not looking forward to tomorrow :(
I'm sorry this is a sad time for you. It does get easier to live with gradually, but try to be kind to yourself; your Dad will always be with you, and I'm sure he would want you to feel better. Talking is also a good help, especially with anyone else who loved your Dad too. I hope it is a peaceful day for you tomorrow, and that you find comfort when you visit him xx
