Re: Gah! ><
If it is only one module assessment then you have plenty leeway to make up that point on another paper and bring it up to an A or A* overall so I wouldn't worry about that one mark. Just try and get it up on another paper. You also won't know what the grade boundaries are till everything is marked up so I'm sure it will all work out.
Anyway congratulations - it's a great result anyway.

Re: Gah! ><
Ahh it is always annoying, I had an instance much like that in my GCSE's...it's more painful when you see your overall grade on results day and see that you've missed an A by 1 mark lol! A year or so later you completely forget though. 4 years on I can't even remember what subject I missed a mark on!

Re: Gah! ><
After GCSEs, there are three options, continue onto A Levels, go to college to do a Diploma or become an apprentice (the last two can also be done by 'mature' students).
To get to University, you have to be 18 years or older. Unless you are a mature student (for mature students, they take into account life experience), you must either have relevant A-levels or a diploma/higher diploma.
At university, you study Degrees and Doctorates.

Re: Gah! ><
I go to a private school ATM (can't wait to leave to go to college to do an animal management diploma!!!) and the ribbing you get for not getting a/a* is unreal. It's silly really.
