No tension, no yelps if you touch him there or pick him up. He is taking water from the dish but I have to wet his mouth to get him to drink. Once he starts drinking, he gulps it down so quickly that I have to take it away in case he drinks too much too quickly.

=/ See that makes me think it's some sort of poison as it seems to be excessive drinking.

It's good that he's not tender there though.

He didn't want any drink this half hour.

I can't get him there quicker, my mum thinks that he has a tummy bug.

Jiang is staying in tonight because he is very dehydrated and has had diarrhoea.

They don't think it's poisoning but according to our vet, a few cats and dogs in our area have been ill with the same thing. Since he vomited up a worm, they're going with the idea that they've been scavenging/eating something bad.

Just an update. He has improved overnight, the drip helped him rehydrate and he has not been sick. They are going to try him with a little food to see if he can manage to keep it down.

I really hope this means he'll be back with us by tomorrow at the latest!

I am glad to hear he has been improving!
How horrible for you
I have been in the same situation with my Bearded Dragon who was ill but my parents wouldn't take him vets, it's really difficult situation, especially when you are the main carer for him but just because your not the named one you get no say!
I hope he is back to eating properly again soon =)

Glad to hear he's improving. Hopefully he'll continue to go in the right direction and be back with you soon. It's always horrible when a pets sick but I think it's especially sad when it's at Christmas.

Good news! Jiang is home!

He was a little terror and refused to eat at the vets (Vet had wanted to see him eat, we had told him that there was no way he would feed there, he likes the privacy of home). Sure enough, as soon as he got out the basket, he asked us to feed him!

My sweet, well behaved baby turned into a little terror there though. While he accepted the intravenous and various injections, every time a member of staff passed his cage, he hissed at them!

He is on meds for next few days, but hopefully he is now on the mend.

A great big thank you to all who helped me get through the last couple of days!
